The PCR2.1 ECU came fitted to the 1.6 TDI engines. These usually come with a Garrett gtd1244vz and they are very down tuned on the factory settings.

This means you can give you customers a great remap and it’s a fairly simple ECU to work with.

 

It’s rare that you’ll get one of these in to your workshop that hasn’t already been messed around with, then you’ll need a full original restore. Please note, that if you want to reverse the emissions update software it does not work unless you also alter EEPROM content, as there is protection to stop you doing this. You can do this using auto tuner tool it has a rewind option specifically for the PCR2.1 ECUs.
